River Island revamps e-commerce platform
The High Street retailer has signed a deal to revamp its e-commerce site, as one of its key trading channels, with a new software platform, consultancy and legacy integration.

Clothing chain River Island is to revamp its web presence, designing and building a next-generation site, underpinned with a new e-commerce platform.
The High Street retailer said yesterday it had chosen to work with strategic, creative and technical consultancy, Conchango in a phased programme of work to future-proof this key trading channel.
David Jenne, River Island's head of business systems and e-commerce said: "Our website has always been one of our most successful channels in terms of trading. However, we recognise that it is important to refresh our online store in order to move with the times and ensure that we're meeting our customers' ever-changing needs."
The retailer will adopt Conchango's Digital Commerce Platform (DCP) to gain greater flexibility over its online content. It will be integrated with existing back-end systems to create a scalable platform on which to improve the ease of developing and managing the site.
The redesign will also aim to make the more user friendly while ensuring its accessibility.
"The integration of Conchango's DCP will enable us to deliver a rich, fast, reliable and secure experience online," added Jenne.
