Toshiba expands business notebook lines
New additions to Toshiba include high-end ultra-portable and budget focused entry-level netbook.
Toshiba has unveiled an updated range of laptops aimed at the business market.
These are the super light Portege R600, the Portege A600, the Tecra R10, and finally its NB100 netbook.
The 12.1in Portege R600, is an ultra-thin model, that weighs in at a mere 970g, complete with DVD drive and packs a claimed nine-hour battery life. It's Core 2 Duo powered with a choice of 1.2Ghz or 1.4GHz processor, and either a 160GB conventional hard disk or a 128GB SSD. It also contains an integrated mobile broadband module, making it perfect for mobile professionals but expect a price tag that's inversely proportional to its size.
The Portege A600 offers similar specs but is thicker, and offers Intel GMA X4500 and a weight of 1.46Kg and eight hours of battery life. It also features integrated mobile broadband. It will be more affordable than the elite R600.
Meanwhile, the Tecra R10 is a more rugged durable product, and offers a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo SP9400, 4GB of DDR RAM, a beefy 7,200rpm hard drive and NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M graphics. Mobile broadband is again included.
Finally, the Satellite NB100 is the Toshiba's netbook, with a 8.9in display and a weight of 1Kg. The processor is the Intel Atom 1.6GHz, backed with 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11b/g WiFi.
