Virgin Trains get T-Mobile Wi-Fi
Passengers will be able to access the web while on-board, even when going through tunnels.
T-Mobile and Virgin Trains have teamed up to offer passengers travelling the West Coast Main Line wireless access even when going through tunnels, the pair promised.
The T-Mobile Wi-Fi HotSpot service, which is being rolled out by Nomad Digital, will initially available on Virgin's 52 Italian tilting Pednolino' trains, with 21 Super Voyager' trains to follow by the middle of the summer.
Graham Leech, executive commercial director for Virgin Trains, said in a statement: "We're always looking at ways to improve the travel experience for our passengers so we're pleased to be able to answer their requests for access to the internet on our trains."
First class customers will get free access, while the rest of passengers will need to buy their time T-Mobile Mobile Broadband customers will get free access, too.
An unlimited T-Mobile HotSpot package is available for 20 a month, or Wi-Fi time can be bought pay-as-you-go for 75p for ten minutes, 5 for an hour, or 10 for a day.
