O2 ‘streets ahead’ of other broadband providers
O2 beats the ISP competition, with many users considering switching due to the recession and poor customer support.
O2 has been declared the overwhelming winner in a broadband provider survey.
BroadbandChoices.co.uk recorded the opinions of more than 10,000 people to see what they viewed of the services and costs of their internet service providers (ISPs).
O2 was the "king of the ISP hill", and won the accolade for best overall provider as well as six key satisfaction categories.
It was also a good survey for Virgin Media, which was the most improved ISP from six months ago, as well as offering the best bundled package in terms of speed.
Sky was the best overall when it came to bundling and TalkTalk was declared best value for money for bundled services.
However, the survey also said that less than half of broadband users were happy with customer support, while more than half considered changing their ISP during the recession.
"The key reason for considering switching is overwhelmingly due to the frustration of not receiving the speed performance users have been promised," said BroadbandChoices.co.uk's product director Michael Phillips in a statement.
