Iomega launches eGo portable storage for Macs
EMC owned Iomega has launched its new portable hard drive for Mac users.

Iomega has launched new portable hard drive 'eGo' for Macs.
The storage device features up to 500gb capacity with Firewire and USB 2.0 connectivity. The aluminium design is available in three colours - Alpine White, Midnight Blue and Ruby Red. It measures 16mm thick and weighs 200g.
Jonathan Huberman, president of Iomega, said: "The new Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive is ideal for Mac fans that want to take their files anywhere with the assurance of compatibility no matter which interface is needed."
As well as the new design, the eGo comes with three backup software programs. Iomega QuikProtect is for files, while EMC Retrospect Express or Express HD backup for files, apps and settings. MozyHome Online Backup offers 2GB of online backup for free with the added option of paying $4.95 (3) per month for unlimited storage.
The eGo is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or above, as well as Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
Pricing varies with the 250GB Alpine White eGo model costing $99.99, the 320GB Midnight Blue model costing $109.99 and the 500GB Ruby Red model costing $149.99. All prices include a three year warranty.
