Half a million Wi-Fi hotspots for BT
The communications giant is now half way towards its goal of creating one million Wi-Fi points.

BT is claiming the Wi-Fi crown for biggest supplier of such connectivity in the UK by announcing it now has hotspots at some 500,000 locations.
The half a million sites include BT Openzone hubs and its dozen wireless city initiatives, in addition to big name users such as BA, Hilton hotels and Starbucks.
"We've reached a significant milestone in making Wi-Fi available in places where people want to get online," said Gavin Patterson, BT Retails' chief executive, in a statement.
"As the UK's largest broadband retailer, we're happy to offer the biggest Wi-Fi network too. We'll continue to expand from here."
Earlier this week, Wi-Fi was thrown into the spotlight for less positive reasons, with a researcher suggesting that current laws were too confusing.
