Nokia much anticipated device, the N900, will be launched on the Vodafone network later this month.
Although an exact data and pricing has yet to be confirmed by the companies both have confirmed the device is coming in the near future.
A spokesperson from Vodafone told IT PRO: "Vodafone Ireland have already announced that they'll sell the N900 - other markets to sell it will announce in due course."
Nokia has also confirmed on its website that shipments of the handsets have started and they will be across stores in Europe, the Middle-East, Russia and North America this month for an estimated retail price of 500.
The N900 is Nokia's first device to include the open source Linux platform Maemo.
Jos-Luis Martinez, vice president of Nseries at Nokia, said in a statement: "What's exciting is the Maemo software, which takes its cues from the desktop computer and offers a full browsing experience like no other handset. We believe the Nokia N900 will be a very compelling device for people who are passionate about technology."
The device will contain an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and up to 1GB of total application memory, allowing users to have several applications running at once.
