gadgets

It seems like there's a new gadget being released every day - but which ones are worth spending your hard earned cash on?

And gadgets are always a winner at Christmas. After all, who's going to complain if they find a shiny new piece of tech under their tree? Still, it's often hard to figure out just what device you should add to your list, and which you should pass by.

Here are our suggestions for the top 10 gadgets you should consider when shopping - whether for yourself or your family and friends.

Amazon Kindle Price: 202

It's been a long wait for this famous e-reader to hit the UK, after launching two years ago across the Atlantic, but now it's here.

Created by Amazon, the Kindle can store 1,500 books - but only those bought from the Kindle Store. Even though it is still shipping the US version over here at the moment, you are able to subscribe to newspapers and magazines from our shores such as The Independent, The Times and The Daily Telegraph.

iPod Nano Price: 100

You can't go anywhere these days without seeing those white headphones letting you know the person in question is an Apple convert. The Apple product making it on to our list this year is the smaller version of the classic, the iPod Nano.

In addition to being visually pleasing with its range of nine bright colours, the latest Nano is not just a music player but a video recorder as well. It's far from the best camera in the world, but is a definite improvement on many of the mobiles around today.

It also comes with an FM radio receiver, as well as a pedometer to keep you trim after all that Christmas turkey.

Panasonic ZX1 Digital Camera Price: 264

There is now a plethora of digital cameras out there to choose from; when you go into a shop and see them all lined up your head can go in a spin. Our suggestion is to take one from the Panasonic range.

The ZX1 is towards the lower spec of Panasonic's cameras, but you still get impressive features without feeling such a pinch on your purse strings. Coming in a range of colours to suit all tastes, the ZX1 is stylish and incredibly compact for ease of use.
