Google's two operating systems may eventually become one, according to one of the web giant's co-founders.
Last week, Google unveiled the Chrome OS, specifically designed for running web apps on a netbook. It's still in the early stages, with devices expected by the end of next year.
On the other hand, there's Android, Google's mobile operating system. It does allow application downloads, but is designed more for smartphones - although a netbook running Android is in the works from Acer.
After last week's Chrome launch, Google co-founder Sergei Brin told reporters "Android and Chrome will likely converge over time," according to a report from CNET.
Google said in a statement: "We're reaching a perfect storm of converging trends where computers are behaving more like mobile devices, and phones are behaving more like small computers."
