On what was likely to be an emotional last day, Sun Microsystems' chief executive has bid farewell to the company with a few select words on Twitter.
Jonathan Schwartz, who has lead the firm since 2006, wrote his goodbye in Haiku style on his Twitter feed earlier today.
"Today's my last day at Sun," he tweeted. "I'll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku. Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more."
It still isn't known whether Schwartz chose to leave the firm after its acquisition by Oracle was finally confirmed last week, or whether its new owners gave him no choice, but he was clearly upset about the goodbyes.
Just before the deal was done, Schwarz sent an email to his employees telling those who were being taken on by Oracle to "start with a clean slate" and "take on the myriad of opportunities ahead with the same passion and tenacity" that they had while working for Sun.
