The Xperia family has announced it is expecting again as Sony Ericsson has unveiled two new devices in its portfolio, the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.
Both of the compact versions of its Android-based X10 handset will be available in the first half of this year, according to the Swedish giant who used the eve of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona to announce its news.
In addition to sporting Android, both the X10 Mini and its sibling the Mini Pro will feature a customisable UX skin, in addition to Sony Ericsson's Timescape technology to put key communications tools at users' fingertips.
An innovative four-corner control, five megapixel camera, music player add to the features mix, with the Mini Pro also benefiting from a slide-out QWERTY keyboard too.
"There has been an enormous buzz around Xperia X10 so it is really exciting to be already unveiling compact versions of this powerful proposition," Rikko Sakaguchi, executive vice president and chief creation officer at Sony Ericsson, in a statement.
"With the X10 Mini and X10 Mini pro we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with smaller devices and are giving consumers exactly what they want; two high performance mobile phones with a fully customisable user experience platform and a stunning ultra-compact design."
