ISPs named for Bournemouth’s 100Mbps broadband

Broadband

After ongoing work to get Bournemouth's internet infrastructure up to scratch, the i3 Group (H20 Networks) has announced three ISPs that residents can buy their services from.

As of today Fibreband, Velocity 1 and Vispa will offer internet speeds starting from 25Mbps and up to 100Mbps to residents in the southern coastal town in a variety of packages.

The fibre to the home network was built by Fibrecity Holdings, owned by the i3 Group. It will also allow TV and telephone services for customers signing up.

Elfed Thomas, chief executive of i3 Group, said: "The Fibrecity portal is a virtual market place that offers consumer choice by allowing multiple service providers to offer and deliver services over a single Fibrecity network connection."

He added: "I am delighted that Fibreband, Velocity 1 and Vispa are the first service providers to join this portal."

Thomas confirmed that he expected more providers to get onto the network over the next 12 months.

Some homes have already been connected to the Fibrecity network. The residents will all be receiving a free set top box allowing them to browse the services on offer from the three providers.
