Nokia ‘brings social networking to life‘ with three new handsets

Nokia E5

Nokia has announced three new handsets claiming they provide better social networking and messaging tools but at an affordable price.

The Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5 all feature full QWERTY keyboards but boast a range of features targeted at the lower end up to more professional needs.

The C3 is expected to cost just 90 (79) offering social networking direct from the 2.4in homescreen. Coming in a range of colours, it also features a two megapixel camera and support for an 8GB memory card.

Moving up the range slightly the C6 Symbian smartphone features a 3.2in touchscreen along with its slide-out keyboard. The higher spec phone with five megapixel camera, flash, and full email and social networking capabilities is set to cost 220.

Finally comes the E5, aimed more at the professional user than for purely consumer means. Again Symbian-based, the handset can access over 90 per cent of corporate email with more space for scheduling apps. This is set to cost 180.

"People want the best messaging and social networking experience on an affordable device, whether it's sending a simple text or instant message, an email, or a direct message from their Twitter account," said Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's head of markets, in a statement.

"The Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5 are made for just that."

Both the C Series phones are expected in the second quarter of this year whilst customers will have to wait until the third quarter to get hold of the E5.
