Two new BlackBerry handsets are to be launched today by Research in Motion (RIM), according to reports.

Although the company is holding back with full details of the devices, it has been widely reported that customers will soon be able to get their hands on a new Bold 9650 and a Pearl 3G.

The updated handsets feature some improvements, said TheStreet.com, which claimed to have received a specifications sheet from the company.

It reported the Bold 9650 will have a 3.2 megapixel camera, a large, high-resolution screen, GPS and Wi-Fi.

The Pearl 3G will also have the same screen and camera capabilities, but will be a pure GSM phone with a higher Wi-Fi specification.

IT PRO contacted a spokesperson from RIM who told us a new Bold was in the pipeline, but said they were "limited in terms of information" that they could share at this time.

The mobile manufacturer is holding press briefings in London this afternoon to coincide with its annual conference in Orlando this week, so more details may be forthcoming later today.
