iPad faces further UK delays

iPad

Apple has put back the UK shipping date of the iPad yet again, with analysts citing supply issues as the reason.

The company had revised the release date in April to the end of May due to higher than expected numbers being sold in its native US, however customers were guaranteed the device would be shipped on the 28th of this month.

However, if you visit the Apple website to pre-order one of the tablet devices, the shipping date is now 10 days later on 7 June.

The official statement from Apple said: "Demand for iPad has been off the charts. We are working hard to get iPads into customers' hands as quickly as possible."

Pricing for the devices was confirmed on 7 May, with pre-orders being taken three days later.

Metro has reported that those customers who have already placed an order will still be receiving their iPads on the original date but any orders from now will not be shipped until later.
