The 12-megapixel camera can take some stunning shots. Video is recorded in 720p HD, albeit at a frame rate of 25fps which is slightly lower than the iPhone 4's 30fps. There's a HDMI port for connecting the N8 to your HD TV. To our eyes, it looks like a regular, full-size HDMI port instead of a smaller micro HDMI port which would require an adapter cable. If so, this is definitely a welcome feature.
Overall, our first impressions of the N8 are very positive - as the first Nokia device running on Symbian^3, it restores our faith in the Finnish phone giant.
It could help save Nokia from being swamped by smartphone high fliers such as Apple and HTC.

Verdict
The Nokia N8 is the first Nokia device to run on Symbian^3 and it's both a media consumption and business phone. Nokia’s Mail for Exchange is as good as – if not better – than Android’s Exchange functionality and the platform is certainly worth watching. All it needs now is an improved app store and it could give the iPhone and Android some serious competition.
