Facebook ramps up mobile efforts

Facebook held a special mobile event yesterday evening to make the announcements where founder Mark Zuckerberg made a controversial comment about Apple's iPad.

Responding to a blogger's question about whether Facebook would be launching an app for the iPad, Zuckerberg responded: "iPad is not mobile. Next question."

The Mashable reporter then said Apple may disagree, to which Zuckerberg replied: "Well, sorry."

Facebook's mobile vice president Erik Tseng quickly stepped in to say the social networking giant was continuing to coordinate a strategy for the Apple device.
