Murdoch plans iPad-only newspaper
‘The Daily’ will become the world’s first iPad-only publication.

The iPad will soon have its very own news publication, according to a number of reports.
A variety of US titles claimed Rupert Murdoch, owner of The Times and News Of World, had been working on an iPad-only title called "The Daily."
The New York Times said the publication was already under construction in News Corp's Manhattan offices, with about 100 employees and around $30 million investment.
It is expected to use some content from other News Corp titles, but the majority would be original for the title, said the newspaper.
The move would be the next step on Murdoch's mission to make reader's pay for news content.
Earlier this year both The Times and The Sunday Times went behind a paywall, making customers who wanted to read the content pay 2 per month for the privilege or 1 for 24 hours of access.
However, figures released at the start of November showed traffic to the websites had fallen from 21 million per month for The Times alone, to 2.7 million between the daily and weekend publications.

This has not deterred Murdoch, however, who claimed The Daily was his "number one most exciting project."
