Please do not judge me for what I'm about to write
I have an issue with certain types of paper found in the average modern-day paperback book. The feel of the paper gives me the same cringing reaction as when someone runs their fingers down a blackboard. I don't know why. It's just the way I'm made.
As such, it means my reading material is restricted to hard back books and online-only.
I've watched many people jump on the e-book bandwagon with mixed emotions as a result. But now I'm finally ready to join them and realise that these devices were designed, perhaps not primarily, granted, with quirky people like me in mind.
So Santa, please free this journalist from a daily commute of having to stare out the windows and instead allow her to spend the time reading and expanding her mind.

iPhone 4
There's not much that hasn't already been said about the merits of Apple's latest shiny device. I've got a 3GS and have happily had a relationship with each generation of the device since the first one appeared on the market.
However, thus far I've managed to avoid upgrading to the iPhone 4. I wanted to sit back and wait to see what glitches may or may not be uncovered before succumbing. But now I'm finally ready and would like one very much please Father Christmas.
iPad
Call me greedy if you like. I want a Kindle but I also want an iPad. I want to be able to do all the whizzy things you can't do on a standard e-book reader and more and also have what looks a bit like a giant iPod to jazz up my in-home music experience.
I have visions of having dinner parties with great background music thanks to my iPad and speaker combo. Make it happen please Santa.
