Former MP Baroness Browning this month went as far to say the US should employ McKinnon to help improve cyber defences rather than shove him in jail.

Hope for 2011
In the second half of 2010 hacktivism' became mainstream thanks to
WikiLeaks. Any kind of protest is exciting for us journalists, but the work of Anonymous and others has irrevocably altered the paradigm for freedom of expression.
For next year, I'd like to see an issue arise that has the general backing of the public, followed by an online protest. That will really show whether it is corporations or the people who have control over the internet.
