Salesforce goes social with Manymoon buy
The SaaS company delves deeper into social media business tools with the acquisition of Manymoon.

Salesforce has confirmed it has bought Manymoon, a company that develops social productivity applications.
Manymoon, whose social productivity application is designed for sharing and completing work items with one's contacts in a social network-like way, is on major platforms, including Google Apps Marketplace and Linkedln.
It described itself as an "easy-to-use application that integrates with the tools you already use to help you get work done". It is especially popular among small businesses. Indeed, more than 50,000 businesses use its app.
Manymoon said both its team and the services it provided would remain intact and continue to develop, as it will work as a separate business within the matrix of salesforce.com.
"Over the last 12 years salesforce.com has been an evangelist and driver for bringing applications, platforms and collaboration to the cloud. We're excited to be part of their vision for cloud, social and mobile, utilise their knowledge and experience to build a world-class social productivity app, and move even faster in delivering new capabilities to you," the company said in a blog post.
"We are going to invest more in what you've told us you like about Manymoon: Google Apps Marketplace, LinkedIn and Chrome Web Store support. You can expect to see many of the key social productivity features you've requested released in the near future. We're also going to be working on some exciting, new developments in the coming monthsso stay tuned."
