A lot of questions have been raised as to whether the iPhone could hold onto its place as the most desirable phone as Google's Android operating system has snuck up on a plethora of devices.
However, the confirmation of 100 million proves Apple still has a major role in the smartphone space.
A recent poll by uSwitch showed the iPhone had slipped out of the top five as the most wanted handset in the UK.
