The company confirmed the release of the Huawei E367 for Thursday 7 April, claiming it would boost connection speeds by up to 40 per cent.
The dongle will cost 69.99 for a 1GB pay-as-you-go (PAYG) option. Customers can also get a 5GB allowance by spending 49.99 up front and then 15.99 per month.
To get the dongle for free, the monthly charge is 18.03 on a 24 month contract, but this does come with a 15GB per month allowance.
Users who already own a 3 dongle will be able to upgrade it to the Huawei E367 for a one off payment of 59.99.
David Kerrigan, head of mobile broadband at 3, claimed its network was "built for mobile internet" and this dongle was the best way to experience it.
