BlackBerry PlayBook coming to UK on 16 June
Research in Motion confirms four vendors will sell the tablet device on our shores.
Research in Motion (RIM) has confirmed the UK launch date of its debut tablet the BlackBerry PlayBook will be Thursday 16 June.
Arguably the first tablet aimed towards the business user, the PlayBook will be available at a plethora of locations the Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Phones4u, Currys and PC World rather than going down the exclusivity route.
The 16GB model will be priced at 399, the 32GB at 479 and the 64GB at 559.
Corporate users can also get their devices from Insight UK.
The PlayBook was officially announced back in November last year and launched in the US last month. However, as ever, the UK had to wait to get the tablet for longer than its friends the other side of the Atlantic.
It has faced issues already though, with RIM having to recall 1,000 of the devices from Staples that had been shipped with a faulty operating system.
