Desktop Anywhere launches in UK
A new virtual desktop service encourages adoption of the technology.

Desktop Anywhere, a new virtual desktop provider, has launched its service in the UK thanks to growing demand from businesses.
Citing Gartner research indicating healthy growth in the UK market, the provider believes it is an ideal time to introduce its remote desktop packages to British firms.
The company's remote desktop and cloud services are used by a variety of sectors including finance, property investment and publishing and can cater to businesses with requirements for anywhere from five to 1,000 cloud business users.
Desktop Anywhere's new service is based on VMware's cloud platform with a selection of advanced features, including server and data replication, fast graphics streaming, remote sound and large-scale storage capacity for hosted exchange email. The service boasts task specific tailoring to individual clients and near-instant deployment capability for applications.
The company said its use of multiple data centres for disaster recovery means it can offer consistent availability and reliability of its services. The service supports access from desktop and laptop computers, as well as smartphones and tablets.
Desktop Anywhere claimed it "prides itself" in offering services which empower mobile work forces, with improved office connectivity and remote networking.
