RIM unveils cloud-based BlackBerry management tool
Blackberry users are being offered a new service to help protect against data loss.

RIM has announced a new service to help small businesses manage and protect their Blackberrys.
The cloud-based service, dubbed BlackBerry Management Centre, has been designed for businesses with up to 100 smartphones. It will allow companies back up their Blackberrys automatically, via a wireless connection, which should aid the recovery of content if handsets are lost or stolen.
The system also introduces protection for devices that have been stolen: remotely locking a stolen smartphone and protecting senstitive data.
"We are pleased to introduce RIM's latest cloud service designed specifically for small businesses," said Alan Panezic, RIM's vice president of enterprise product management.
"BlackBerry Management Centre is a free service and an effective way to manage and support employees' BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud."
