Introducing the IT Pro Leader Board
Making strategic technology decisions that impact your business is never easy. The IT Pro leader board is here to offer advice and guidance as well as sharing the benefit of their collective experience.
Mark has worked in most elements of IT management for nearly 20 years in a mixture of employed and contract roles.
He learnt 'politics' (both 'office' and 'ruling party') as an IT Manager in the NHS and in Local government, the support of staff and systems as the Midlands regional support manager with Orange, critical infrastructure as global IT Infrastructure manager with Contship (in the days when organisations paid for private global networks as the internet was "only" for downloading device drivers and for sending and receiving email).
Mark has developed a strategic approach to IT at RLB in his capacity of IT Manager, embracing the cloud and desktop virtualisation as both professional challenges to his team and enabling technologies for the organisation.
Outside of work, Mark plays guitar in two bands, loves cinema and good beer, runs a private recording studio and has followed the German techno-industrial band, Rammstein, across a fair few of their gigs in Europe.
Mark, on behalf of RLB, was awarded the IT Team of the Year accolade at IT Pro's inaugural awards in 2011.
