Microsoft has revamped its webmail tool ahead of the launch of Windows 8. The Outlook.com preview comes with a number of notable changes.
What are the main changes?
The most noticeable change is the interface, which has been stripped back significantly. The standard menu options are found on the left and provide access to key folders such as Inbox, Drafts, Sent and Deleted.
A new addition is the "Quick Views" menu, which automatically collates emails which have document attachments, photos and shipping updates. This is a useful feature and will help to narrow down search menus.
Once you have clicked on an email context sensitive options appear along the top of the page allowing you to perform actions including Reply, Delete and Move.
Are Metro Tiles included?
Microsoft has added in Metro tiles, which will be found in Windows 8. Clicking on the arrow next to the Outlook.com logo in the top left corner will bring up tiles which provide access to Mail, People, Calendar and SkyDrive.
