2012 Year in Review: Top 10 products
We look back at the 10 standout products which have been reviewed on IT Pro this year.
With Christmas bearing down on us, it's time to reflect over the last 12 months to see the best of the tech world offered.
We've seen some truly great products pass through the IT Pro office this year, so it's been a tough choice. Unsurprisingly, mobile devices continued to dominate the market and we were inundated with smartphones and tablets. Processing power and pixel counts continued to rise, but perhaps most importantly, price points of high-end products started to drop.
Apple and Samsung (with the help of Google) make the list, but so do stalwarts of the tech world we won't ruin the surprises, so read on to find out.
As always share your thoughts on what you think has been the best products of the year.
10) Apple iPhone 5
However, this didn't stop Apple flogging five million units in the opening weekend it went on sale. There's no denying the popularity of the device and it's clear Apple did get some things right. The firm finally increased the screen size from 3.5in to the more useful 4in. With this, the firm also facilitated a change in aspect ratio to the much more appropriate 16:9.
In terms of design, security and quality of apps, the iPhone still remains the top dog too - it remains a favourite for business users and consumers. It's just not as invincible as it once was.
9) DataFort Hi-5 disaster recovery
