Firefox crop circle appears
Was it aliens, was it the weather. No, it was geeks doing what they love
A crop circle in the shape of the Firefox logo has appeared in a field in Oregon.
Far from being the work of aliens seeking to express browser preference the crop circle is the work of the Oregon State University Linux Users Group. The final display has a diameter of 220 feet and took 24 hours for the team of 12 to build.
"Like any good open source project, we spent a lot of time documenting the process," say the group.
"We had an army of digital cameras, two dedicated videographers, a plane, and a helicopter. All of this allowed us to get some great coverage!"
The idea wad the brainchild of two Mozilla interns but became reality after the Oregon students got involved.
The group have set up a web site to explain how they accomplished the feat.
