Just Eat's hungry for talent, searching for 150 tech workers
The new recruits will be used to develop new technologies to improve the customer experience
Just Eat has announced it's planning to recruit 150 more members of staff into its tech team, meaning it can work on boosting user experience.
The company said it plans to take on new employees across roles including associate engineers, principal engineers and technology managers. They will work together to come up with new tech innovations to directly benefit customers, making it easier to find and order food from local restaurants.
Just Eat will also be able to come up with performance-based strategies, based on the information it collects from its 28,900 restaurant partners in the UK.
"As the market leader in online food delivery, technology and data is absolutely central to the service we provide to our 22.8m customers and 87,500+ restaurant partners globally," Fernando Fanton, Just Eat chief product and technology officer said.
"It's our job to understand and serve the Just Eat customer. Adding 150 people to our tech team in the UK this year will turbo-charge the great work we have already done to personalise the app experience and help us serve every customer's takeaway moment."
Just Eat explained it's already started on its tech recruitment drive, appointing more than 200 engineers, developers and data scientists over the last year and a half to start rolling out its data-led strategy, with the additional 150 team members joining its Bristol and London-based offices.

Two years ago, Just Eat was one of the first food delivery brands to test automated deliveries in an attempt to get food to customers faster. The company used Starships Technologies' robots that feature a PIN-protected compartment so no one can steal the food as it's whizzing its way to its recipient.
