Amazon Business Prime adds same day shipping and invoicing terms
The business version of Amazon's free shipping service aims to make shopping more transparent for companies
Amazon's Business Prime service has experienced somewhat of a facelift, with a handful of new features to serious benefit the business community, the company has revealed.
The online retailer's business-focused service, which aims to make it more cost-effective for organisations wanting to buy equipment or services, will now offer US users the opportunity to consolidate their shipping on big orders and identify preferred vendors for purchasing goods.
If a vendor isn't "preferred", the items that can be purchased will be restricted, so a business can control what its employees are buying and from whom, saving money and making sure the purchase is approved by decision makers. It will make sure the buying process is more streamlined across organisations and will boost compliance, Amazon explained.
Business users will be able to get some products on the same day or the next working day in some instances, bringing it in line with the consumer-based service.
Other new features included in Amazon Business Prime includes Spend Visibility, which offers finance bods to integrate their Amazon spending figures, transformed into PowerPoint-friendly graphics, into presentations for the rest of the business. It means those who are carefully monitoring how much is being spent can feedback on the major purchases and possibly where the firm can scale back on spending.
Amazon has also introduced Extended Terms for Pay by Invoice, extending their payment terms for goods up to 45 days or even 60 days, helping to bring their online purchases in-line with the rest of their purchases that are often bought on account.
All of these new features make Amazon Business Prime a whole lot re attractive for businesses that want to make sure their procurement process is the same across the entire organisation.
