The shareholders and management of Warrington-based distributor VIP Computers have decided to withdraw from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) markets.
In what is described by the VIP Group as an amicable split with its MENASA division, the company will instead redirect resources and increase its focus on European and US markets, where the group is positioned as a system manufacturer as well as a broadline distributor.
Although the Dubai-based MENASA operation has remained profitable after its first year, the local team led by managing director Harprit Singh, will now partner with Falcon Technologies, a European storage specialist, to capitalise on the channel it has created for storage products.
For existing VIP customers in the region, the new partnership will ensure business continuity and after-sales support will continue to be provided by VIP Computer Centre in the UK.
