Exertis boosts fundraising for TechAid
Channel team set to visit Ghana for Kindergarten project

Distributor Exertis has added another £8,615 to its fundraising efforts for TechAid following a charity ball held last week.
This brings the total raised by Exertis for the charity to more than £60,000 to help fund the development of the OLA Kindergarten Centre of Excellence in Ghana which opened last September. The money will go towards further educational projects in Ghana.
TechAid is a partnership between Exertis and Sabre Trust, an independent education charity working in rural Ghana that builds schools for disadvantaged village children. OLA Kindergarten Centre of Excellence in Cape Coast, Central Region is Ghana’s first Centre of Excellence and Sabre’s fifth sustainable kindergarten complex built to date. The three classroom school will not only provide quality facilities to hundreds of three, four and five year olds but will also showcase an optimal learning environment to support and train the teachers.
Later this month, Exertis will be sending a group of twelve volunteer channel members from vendors and resellers out to Ghana to complete the playground at the kindergarten.
“This is an extremely worthwhile cause and we would like to thank our technology sponsors, supporters and members of the local community for their contribution. It’s great that the volunteers have the opportunity to see, and participate in, the work at first hand,” says Simon Woodman, Exertis mobile sales director.
Dell was headline sponsor for the charity ball, held at the Hampshire Court hotel in Basingstoke. The evening was well represented by the industry with support from: Ricoh, OKI, Linx, Samsung, Acer, Epson, Microsoft Mobile, Intel, AOC / Philips, Tullow Oil and Exertis. Additional funds were raised on the night from a raffle and a silent auction with prize donations from a number of local businesses.
The event's organisers – Millie Woodman (Exertis), Aubrey Malcolm-Green (The Sabre Trust), Simon Woodman and Nerissa Tong (both Exertis).
