Managed print provider Danwood has a new CEO after Steve Francis stepped down from the role and handed the reins over to COO, Wes Mulligan.

Francis was brought in by the Board in October 2012 when the company was in what it describes as “operational and financial difficulties.”

In a statement, Danwood chairman, Bob Ellis, says Fracnics’ remit was to “stabilise the business, return it to profitability and professionalise the operations in preparation for its next phase of growth.”

Ellis says the company has successfully completed restructuring, resolved its legal and contractual issues and is now in a period of profitability.

“Therefore Steve and I have agreed that the time is right for Steve to hand over leadership of the company,” he comments.

“The Board would like to record their deep appreciation for Steve’s decisive and successful leadership of the company, leaving it in good health for future growth. We wish him all the best in his next role.”

Mulligan (pictured) has led the transformation of Danwood’s service, logistics and back office operations and has had a long career leading service businesses.

The firm says Mulligan’s appointment is the next stage in the long term development of the business.

“Wes has worked closely with me throughout my time here. He is the right person to lead this great business into the future,” says Francis. “The team for growth is in place and now is the right time for Wes to take the reins.”

Adds Mulligan: “This is an excellent opportunity to build on the stable foundation that Steve leaves behind. I have three main areas for focus; customer loyalty, market share growth and value creation. I firmly believe that by concentrating our immense employee capability, supplier relationships and accumulated knowledge on these objectives, Danwood and its customers will benefit enormously.”
