Ebuyer.com heads back to Sheffield

Ebuyer.com is to return to its hometown of Sheffield nine years after relocating from its previous base at Woodburn Road.

The move was brought on by the firm’s expansion; it presently operates from a purpose built distribution centre in Howden East Yorkshire. The firm is looking to build up its B2B team in a bid to corner the lucrative business market and have chosen Sheffield as the city in which to set up their operation.

The company is looking to open up the Don Valley premises eventually housing over 70 staff recruited from the local area. Ebuyer started in 1999 from a garage in Sheffield before moving in 2006 to the Woodburn Road premises.

The Arena Court office will focus on SMB sales and business solutions with a bespoke CRM system designed to bridge the gap between digital and offline sales. It claimed that 34 percent of the UK’s B2B IT sales traffic visits the firm’s website at some stage while purchasing goods and the new sales system is designed to capitalise on this potential footfall.

“The investment in the new office will mean that we’re able to engage much more closely with our customers and recommend the best solution for them,” says Ebuyer’s head of sales, Phil Bates. “This investment in the office and the expansion of staff will increase our ability to be the virtual IT procurement manager for the UK’s small and medium businesses.”

Ebuyer’s MD Stuart Carlisle says that B2B growth is key for the company to continue expanding.

“It’s incredibly important for a company like Ebuyer.com to continually evolve with the market and finding ways to interact effectively with our business customers is crucial,” he says.

“We‘ve seen the business to business sales sector of our operation grow rapidly over the last two years and opening this new office to generate and fulfil sales allows us to capitalise on a huge swathe of customers we simply couldn’t access before.

“I’m delighted to be able to expand the company when a number of other VARS are struggling in the market, and opening this office in Sheffield, where everything began, is particularly special,” adds Carlisle.
