GTT appoints UK and EU presidents following Interoute acquisition
Martin Ford and Jesper Aargaard will lead the company's growth in Europe
GTT has revamped its UK and EU management teams following its acquisition of Interoute.
Martin Ford has been appointed as UK division president and will manage relationships around the UK and Ireland, plus Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, while Jesper Aagaard has been announced as the company's new European division president.
Ford was previously GTT’s EMEA division president and has extensive leadership experience at companies including Hibernia Networks where he served as vice president of EMEA sales, Level 3 Communications as senior vice president of European Sales and Engineering, and vice president of Transformation at Concert Communications. He was also sales director of BT's Card Services division.
Aagaard joins GTT from Interroute as part of the company's acquisition. He was previously regional managing director of Interoute's Holland & Nordics division, although he has been working in various roles for the firm since 2012. Previous roles include CEO of Comendo and co-founder/partner at Netmore A/S, which was sold to Comendo in 2008.
Both new positions demonstrate GTT's commitment to the European market following its purchase of Interoute, which closed at the end of May. The execs will help drive organic growth in their respective regions and enhance the customer experience.
“We have a tremendous opportunity to serve the expanding requirements of multinationals for cloud networking services,” stated Rick Calder, GTT president and CEO.
“Our new division structure and talented leadership enable us to provide outstanding service to our clients as we deliver on our purpose of connecting people across organisations, around the world and to every application in the cloud.”
