Google Cloud has appointed former Salesforce executive Helen Kelisky as its managing director for the UK and Ireland.
The role was previously held by Pip White, who left the company in November after just a year, to head up Slack's EMEA business.
Kelisky brings more than 30-years of experience in cloud sales, particularly in the UK and Ireland where she has led strategies for the likes of IBM.
She leaves her role of SVP of cloud sales at Salesforce, again covering the UK and Ireland market, where she was responsible for setting the company's strategy and maintaining 'double digit' growth.
"We are thrilled to have Helen join us as we accelerate the next stage of growth," said Adaire Fox-Martin, EMEA cloud president at Google Cloud. "She brings a wealth of experience with her to the Google Cloud family."
Kelisky's sales experience appears to be a key part of her appointment at Google Cloud, with her role based in London. She will be tasked with boosting the company's sales strategy and development of its 'go-to-market' operation within the region as the company looks to pull in more business in 2022.
Under Pip White's leadership, the company sought to capitalise on smaller businesses and startups undergoing first time digital transformation. Given the short tenure of White, it would appear that Kelisky's appointment has a similar mandate.
In September, CEO Thomas Kurian revealed changes to the company's leadership structure, making substantial changes to its engineering teams in a bid to improve the company's standings in the overall cloud market. The tech giant is seen as the third biggest provider of cloud computing services globally, but it is still some way off the market share of Microsoft's Azure platform and Amazon Web Services.
While parent company Alphabet recently brought in record-breaking revenues, Google's cloud division reported losses of $3.1 billion over 2021.
