Softcat reveals 78 new recruits will join company
Majority of reseller's new staff will join highly sought after graduate programme
Softcat has revealed it will be taking on 78 new employees, with many of the new recruits joining its graduate programme.
The new staff will join departments across the organisation, filling sales, technical and administrative roles in its Marlow HQ and London, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow offices.
Those recruited into the company's graduate scheme will join an additional 23 new school and university leavers who started at the company as apprentices earlier in September.
Softcat explained its recruitment drive is a reflection of the buoyancy of the UK's tech scene at the moment.
“It’s exciting to be welcoming a record number of people into the company today," Softcat’s CEO Martin Hellawell said. "Attracting and recruiting bright, enthusiastic and passionate people is a cornerstone of Softcat’s success and something we put a lot of effort into getting right. The IT industry is an exciting and dynamic place to work and I’m delighted that today’s recruits have chosen to start their careers with Softcat.”
The graduate scheme offers students leaving university the opportunity to learn more about the business in a variety of roles, with intensive training and mentoring to help them get to grips with the industry.
Softcat explained that its company culture and rewards scheme means it doesn't have a problem finding the right talent because so many people want to join the reseller.

“Recruiting the right talent is just part of what makes Softcat successful – we also invest heavily in making sure it’s a great place to work, something that was confirmed by The Great Place to Work Institute when it recognised Softcat as the UK’s ‘Best Workplace’ earlier this year," Hellawell added.
"Our employees benefit from a fantastic working culture and strong career progression potential. Many of our managers and directors are home-grown, starting out at a junior level and working their way up.”
