Department of Veterans Affairs signs a $497M deal with Peraton

Peraton and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) have signed a new contract, extending their long-standing partnership.

Per the new deal, Peraton will help VA develop an enterprise-scale infrastructure-as-a-managed-service (laaMS), connecting VA’s on-premise infrastructure with VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC).

IaaMS will host up to 220 petabytes of mission-critical VA data, ranging from business operations data to medical images used in veteran care. IaaMS will also enable VA to establish a centralized service delivery model that eliminates application-specific infrastructure silos, integrates cloud-based storage capabilities, and adopts industry-best storage practices.

According to the VA, its upcoming IaaMS solution will aid storage and computing facilities in the US and abroad.

Peraton will provide the VA with its services for seven years. The contract will encompass up to 300 VA sites across the continental US and abroad.
