Mergers and acquisitions

Kelway has expanded its Irish operations with the acquisition of the country’s biggest Microsoft Large Account Reseller (LAR), Business & Scientific Services Ltd (BSS).

Kelway CEO Phil Doye, Kelway says the deal “represents a significant step forward for Kelway’s operations in Ireland.

“BSS has well-established bases in both Dublin and Belfast and coverage of all 32 Irish counties. By combining the two companies’ strengths we will look to maximise the value Kelway can bring to customers across the UK and Ireland.”

London-based Kelway will take over BSS’ Microsoft’s LAR status, targeting midsize and enterprise-level organisations. According to Kelway managing director, Dan Laws (pictured), the firm anticipates : “significant growth opportunities within our software licensing business as we look to integrate BSS into the broader Kelway group.”

Willie McKee, managing director of BSS commented that the acquisition was “extremely positive for both our staff and clients.”

This is Kelway’s fifth acquisition in three years. Since 2099 it has snapped up managed services specialist ISC Computers, enterprise IT specialist Repton, managed services and virtualisation specialist Panacea, and software asset management services provider SAM Practice.
