Tech provider ScanSource has announced it's acquired Canpango, a long-term partner of CRM giant Salesforce, enabling it to bolt on extra CRM, contact centre-as-a-service (CCaaS) and unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) opportunities for its own partners and those of Intelisys, which it acquired two years ago.

ScanSource explained the purchase means partners will be able to offer CRM integration services, such as Salesforce solution configuration and implementation as well as training and education and app development without setting up their own practice.

Partners will also be able to integrate other crucial services into their offerings, such as CCaS and UCaaS, customer service and more.

“As our partners continue to move upmarket into larger, more complex UCaaS and CCaaS opportunities, the requirements for CRM are increasing," said Mike Baur, CEO of ScanSource. "The team at Canpango brings extensive experience around these technologies, as well as the professional services needed to make these solutions successful. We continually look for new markets for our partners to delve into and are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings.”

The acquisition of Canpango completed earlier this month and its 70 staff has joined ScanSource's across the globe. As part of the deal, ScanSource will acquire the Canpango brand, although it will retain its name and operate under the ScanSource umbrella of companies.

“CRM is at the core of every customer conversation, as reliable data allows for more meaningful customer relationships," added Matt Lautz, co-founder and CEO of Canpango. "The CRM conversation provides a natural entrance point for partners to extend their current offerings beyond UCaaS and CCaaS to include CRM, marketing automation, business consulting services and more."

Following its acquisition of Intelisys, ScanSource shortly after bought POS Portal, significantly increasing the number of services its partners can integrate into their solutions.
