Casio signs up for A10 Networks' Thunder ADC

Casio has chosen to implement A10 Networks' Thunder ADC to help it move towards digital transformation and keep tabs on the health of its cloud-based applications.

Casio chose A10's solution as a response to the Japanese earthquake in 2011, which severely impacted its systems. It realised it needed to update its infrastructure to safeguard the business against other crises, allowing its employees and partners to stay in contact uninterrupted.

As a short-term solution, Casio implemented Google Apps for Work and an alternative load-balancing solution but found capacity was still short and the company was failing to stay online at the most important times.

“The load on proxy servers would often rise to nearly 100 per cent, and frequent complaints were made from global offices that chat, web conferencing and other applications were going down,” said Koji Kawade, User Support Group at Casio.

“With the A10 Thunder ADC solution, we consolidated six proxy servers and load balancers into two appliances. The load on proxy servers dropped from 100 per cent to no more than 25 per cent at any given time, improving application performance and employee productivity.”

A10 Networks' Thunder ADC comprises both virtualisation and security functions, combined with application and acceleration and load balancing, meaning all areas of the business are protected in all conditions. Integrating A10’s Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) too, businesses can have the peace of mind their solution will also offer significant cost savings too, A10 said.
