First details of Dell EMC Partner Program revealed
New structure will take effect from February 2017

Dell EMC has revealed the details of its new partner programme, which is due to go live in February next year.
The Dell EMC Partner Program, which will finally formally unite the channels of Dell and EMC, will comprise four tiers - Gold, Platinum, Titanium and the "exclusive" Titanium Black. It will encompass the whole of Dell EMC, including the likes of RSA and Virtustream, meaning these four tiers will be sub-divided into what John Byrne, president of global channel at Dell EMC, referred to as six separate tracks.
"[Speaking to partners] what I heard was 'We're not all built equally. Your current programme makes us feel like we're all resellers', but all your businesses are built differently. You have different needs for your customers. So within the tiers, there will tracks based on the relevant [partner areas] - solution providers, OEMs, SI/Alliances, MSP/CSP - RSA is coming in, Virtustream is coming in," Byrn told assembled channel partners at the opening day of Dell EMC World 2016.
This means that, while the Dell EMC Partner Program covers off the whole of the enterprise business and partners can tick off more than one of these tracks, they aren't obliged to do so.
"This is our new programme because ... let me be very clear, we're building the most desirable, the most lucrative channel programme on the planet," he boasted.
Other than the names of the tiers and the tracks within them, little practical information is available about the program, though. Thresholds won't be announced until December, although the company said it will allow six months for partners to ramp up to the new criteria.
