Acer partners with Getech for Chrome Enterprise rollout
Acer is also hoping to tap into Getech's well-established UK MSP program
IT giant Acer has announced a new partnership with distributor Getech, which will aim to provide crucial delivery of Chrome Enterprise to businesses.
The move comes ahead of expected "spectacular" growth in the Chrome market, Acer said, with the new partnership enabling the successful delivery of end-to-end customer service.
'This complements our current go-to-market and distribution strategy and will enable Acer to better react and to service the Enterprise market,' commented Craig Booth, UK Country Manager at Acer.
Designed to help Google take a foothold in the Enterprise market, Chrome Enterprise provides cloud management tools, third-party integrations and support for businesses, as well as appropriate security and control measures.
The solution includes the usual Chrome OS features – such as automatic updates and remote desktop – with added management features including Chrome OS extensions, Chrome web browser, Microsoft Active Directory, and printer and fleet management.
A leading distributor for thin client desktop services and associated products in the UK, Getech has built long-standing relationships with many prominent resellers, Acer said, as well as building the necessary know-how for successful implementations.
The firm's specialists will be able to assist with implementation strategies, advise on the installation and configuration process, as well as arrange for proof of concept (POC) evaluations.

The partnership will also look to build on Getech's significant success with its MSP program, Acer added, which will help open new channels for the UK reseller network for Acer Chrome Enterprise, as well as enhanced end-to-end customer service for Chrome.
Acer also confirmed that the Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, which is designed to unlock the built-in capabilities of Chrome, will come with three devices: Acer Chromebook Spin 13, Acer Chromebook Enterprise 714 and the Acer Chromebook Enterprise 715.
Stocks of the devices will be available in the channel during December.
