Channel services provider Agilitas has announced the launch of a new European logistics hub in Amsterdam, which it says will help provide customers continuity of service in a post-Brexit landscape.

The new hub will be used to hold technology hardware and enable Agilitas to continue EU business without impacting its logistics services and supply chain management.

The company says the hub was opened to ensure its customers and channel partners face minimal disruption under the terms of the recently agreed Brexit deal.

"As an international solutions provider with a strong presence in Europe, guaranteeing continuity and stability through the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union was always of significant importance to Agilitas and our customers," explained John Street, Operations Director at Agilitas.

"While it is certainly encouraging that a trade deal has now been agreed between the UK and EU, it was also paramount for Agilitas to be prepared for every potential scenario."

The hub is the fruit of Agilitas' Brexit taskforce, which it set up after the 2016 referendum to monitor developments and ensure UK businesses would be safeguarded throughout the withdrawal process.

One of the group’s key priorities has been to minimise impact from regulatory changes that could hamper the firm's ability to serve both the UK and European markets.

"International businesses such as Agilitas should always be prepared for change," Street continued. "We have been working closely with our supply chain partners over the last few months, implementing agile action plans to allow us to continue to support our EU customers, who need to receive the levels of service they are accustomed to."

By establishing its new logistics hub in Amsterdam, the provider says it is now better placed to tackle issues surrounding trade, tariffs and free movement that arise from Brexit.

"We are always looking to adapt and evolve as the industry develops, and our European logistics hub is just one of the ways we are transforming our business to remain relevant for customers, and continue to provide world-class channel services solutions," Street concluded.
