Dell EMC has announced that Anwar Dahab will be the new senior vice president of its channel business in EMEA, as the technology firm looks to build on three successive periods of growth this year.

Taking the official title of SVP Channel, Dell EMC EMEA, Dahab begins his new role at the start of the company's new financial year on 6 February 2019, tasked with investing in and developing the firm's existing channel, as well as expanding its partnership base.

During the last two years, Dahab has led the EMEA Client Solutions business, following prior experience as General Manager for Dell in France as well as several years leading of leading infrastructure solutions sales for Western Europe.

He replaces the outgoing Michael Collins who takes on the role of senior vice president, Western Europe, Russia & eCIS, leading the sales and go-to-market strategy for the region. He replaces Henrik Thomsen, who retires after a 21-year career at Dell.

Under Collins' leadership in EMEA, Dell's global channel business has delivered three successful quarters of double-digit growth this year.

"Anwar will look to build on this momentum by ensuring our channel partners have the solutions, tools and resources they need to make digital transformations real for customers," the company said in a release.

Dell EMC is now actively searching for Anwar Dahab's replacement for its EMEA Client Solutions business, with his successor to be announced as soon as it is confirmed, the tech giant added.

The shakeup follows a number of other changes within the Dell channel business in the last year. Back In November 2017, head of global channel John Byrne moved to front the company's commercial sales division in North America, with Joyce Mullen taking over the top job.

In the UK, channel chief Sarah Shields similarly left to take on the role of vice president the enterprise channel in Europe, replaced by Tech Data executive Rob Tomlin.
