Samsung appoints James Kitto as UK&I VP of sales

Samsung Sign on building entrance

Samsung has announced the promotion of James Kitto to UK & Ireland vice president of sales, as the electronics giant looks to further grow its Samsung Mobile division in the region.

Stepping up from his previous position of sales director for the UK and Ireland, Kitto will be responsible for continuing the electronics giant's strategy in 5G leadership, as well as driving customer loyalty and its ecosystem proposition.

Kitto joined the business in his previous role back in 2017, building a hugely successful team, and delivering significant development across Samsung's mobile, tablet, wearable, audio and memory segments.

Under his tenure, Samsung UK & Ireland has seen some of the most successful launches to date, the company said, including the release of the Galaxy S10, Note10 and the Galaxy Watch.

Kitto's commercial expertise, ambition and proven ability to lead teams through fast-paced transformation will be instrumental in his new role, Samsung added.

"James is an immensely talented leader and will bring a unique breadth and depth of experience to his new role," commented Conor Pierce, corporate vice president for Samsung UK & Ireland. "His proven track record in shaping diverse teams and building transformational business strategies are qualities that we're proud to welcome into the senior leadership team.

"This new role is a direct recognition of his dedication and contribution to the Samsung business and I look forward to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with James as we work to deliver further commercial success."

Kitto brings more than 15 years of business and marketing experience to his new role. Having started his career in financial services, he then joined Nokia's senior leadership team, playing a key role in business transformation. He later left the telecommunications firm to devote his time to growing several technology start-ups.

"I'm truly honoured by this appointment and excited by the opportunity to steer the development and growth of such an innovative business," Kitto said. "The Samsung team brings together some of the brightest talent from across the industry and I'm looking forward to working together to deliver best-in-class products and experiences for our consumers."
