Carbon Black hires FireEye's channel chief Jon Kane

shaking hands

Carbon Black has appointed industry veteran Jon Kane to the position of EMEA channel director as part of the company's management shake-up.

Kane will be responsible for growing the company's relationships with its partners in the region and taking an innovative approach to establishing new ways to bring onboard fresh business. His wealth of experience in enterprise security sales will enable Carbon Black to grow its footprint in the EMEA region and develop its products and services for end users.

“I was attracted to Carbon Black because it has an excellent set of products, an enviable reputation in the market, and is focused on driving growth through the channel," Kane said. "It is an exciting time to be part of the business.”

Kane joins Carbon Black from FireEye, where he held the position of head of channel in the company's EMEA region. Prior to that, Kane was UK distribution manager at McAfee, for its UK and Ireland division.

“Jon is an EMEA channel expert with extensive experience and hands-on sales territory and sales-management skills. In particular, he has maintained strong sales performance records in developed and emerging territories," said Mark Reeves, VP of EMEA sales at Carbon Black. "With the recent appointment of Victor Baez as VP of Worldwide Channels, who has been recognised as a 2018 CRN Channel Chief, we are building a formidable team to lead our channel operations in EMEA and worldwide.”

Carbon Black appointed ex-Microsoft channel boss Victor Baez, as vice president of Worldwide Channels earlier this year, demonstrating the company's commitment to growing its worldwide distribution channels.

Over the last 12 months, Carbon Black has substantially grown its partner portfolio, increasing its MSSP business to include more than 130 partners, IR partners up to 100 and adding up to more than 400 total worldwide partners.
