Nutanix charges up partner ecosystem with AFS update
Company builds partner ecosystem to ensure customers have access to full lineup of software
Nutanix has revealed an update to its Acropolis File Services (AFS) software alongside partnerships that will enable its customers to take advantage of a more robust service.
“Rapid AFS adoption shows that customers are clamouring for more ways to converge and simplify all their IT operations, and to replace legacy products with more flexible software-driven solutions,” said Sunil Potti, Chief Product and Development Officer at Nutanix.
“By dramatically reducing operational complexity and leveraging a common software layer, we’re enabling our customers to turn IT into a profit centre. We believe customers will continue their enthusiastic adoption of AFS as part of the overall consumption of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS and we look forward to continuing to expand our partner ecosystem to serve their broadest needs."
Enhanced security is now offered by Symantec, allowing businesses to take advantage of simple in-line antivirus scans using the company's AV solutions, while Rubrik and Comtrade offer efficient backup of AFS data.
The company's partnership with Peer Software enables teams scattered around the world to collaborate better on projects with its active-Active AFS deployments and if a business needs to audit their file systems, they can do so via tie-ups with Varonis and STEALTHbits.
When it comes to managing their deployment, customers can take advantage of Nutanix's partnership with Prism, which offers a management UI for the entire infrastructure stack.
“Nutanix continues to demonstrate thought leadership by offering a clear and compelling vision for the future of the datacentre,” said Eric Sheppard, IDC research director of Enterprise Storage & Converged Systems. “AFS represents an important part of this vision and highlights the company’s commitment to providing a public cloud experience inside complex corporate datacentres.”
